Milwaukee is gearing up for a historic milestone as the city prepares to host its first ever World Series victory parade. The festivities are set to kick off this Friday morning at 10 a.m., beginning at the intersection of North Fourth Street and West Wisconsin Avenue. Fans can expect a celebratory atmosphere as the team winds through the heart of downtown before making its way toward Henry Maier Festival Park for a massive closing rally.
To ensure everyone has a chance to join the party, organizers announced that admission to the festival park grounds will be free until capacity is reached, with gates opening early at 8 a.m. While those wanting guaranteed seating for the official trophy speeches in the American Family Insurance Amphitheater will need to purchase tickets starting Thursday, anyone on the grounds can watch the proceedings via giant video screens accompanied by live music and local vendors. A portion of the amphitheater ticket sales will also benefit the Brewers Community Foundation.
City officials are warning drivers to plan for significant disruptions, as road closures across downtown will begin at 7 a.m. on Friday morning. Despite the excitement sweeping through the region, most school districts remain open unless they had previously scheduled days off for other reasons. Weather remains a point of concern with rain forecast for Southeast Wisconsin over the coming days, but spirits remain high as fans scramble to pick up exclusive championship merchandise ahead of the big event.
